Comparing 2002 and 2012: What Has Changed?

It's been 10 years since the year 2002. We can look back and compare what the world was like then and what it's like now. No doubt, the world has seen a lot of changes in the technological and social spheres.

In 2002, social media was just beginning to become popular. Sites such as Myspace and Facebook didn't yet exist. People communicated mostly through email and instant messaging. People also used landlines and pay phones to communicate with one another rather than using modern cell phones. At the same time, the iPod was just released, which changed the way people listened to music.

Also, in 2002, the internet was starting to become a bigger part of people's lives. Broadband connections were slowly becoming the norm and the web was quickly becoming populated with content.

In 2012, the world looks much different. Social media is huge, allowing people to connect with each other in ways never before possible. Smart phones are the norm and the internet is a resource used for everything from education to entertainment.

The world then and now are considerably different. Technology has evolved drastically while social norms have slowly shifted. It's amazing to think about what has changed in just 10 short years.
